Hi! My name is Kenean. I am a Myrrhmaids group member. I am passionate about natural skin and hair care and would love to share one of my favorite recipes I use for a face mask. It is made out of 3 simple ingredients that you may have in your kitchen now.
Since we are talking about natural skin and hair care let me share my experience of transition to a new way of living in this country. I am from Ethiopia. I moved here four and half years ago and a few months after moving my skin and hair turned out extremely dry and rough because of the products and also the chemicals in the water. I stopped treating my hair and skin with organic and natural things the way I had back home. One day I started complaining about it to my American husband and he reminded me of how we do things differently in Ethiopia.
Saturday mornings were my hair and skin day with my mom and my sister. We put butter (unsalted) on our hair and skin. This might sound a little gross to some people but it is one of the best things you can use for your skin and hair!!! It is cultural for me and it works.... so i love it!!
It was such a blessing to remember! So I took action!!! I chopped my hair big time to start over. Winter and Summer both had their challenges until I got back to my natural healthy ways. Now, I do not even need to go to the store to buy most products. I just go to my fridge! Ha! Cheap and super healthy!
This is what motivates me to share all the recipe's I come with and love using! Hope you will love this mask as much as I do! If you don't have almond oil you could also use coconut or olive oil. My favorite essential oil for this recipe is Frankincense (smells SO GOOD and has lots of benefits for your skin).
This mask will leave your skin soft, moisturized, clear and glowing! Try to use it weekly!
3 Tbs Oatmeal
1 Tbs honey (raw, organic)
1 Tbs almond oil ( you can use olive oil or coconut oil)
1 drop frankincense YL essential oil.
Mix up until it is well blended then apply and rub your skin. Leave it on for 5-6 min then rinse with warm water and apply one of your favorite moisturizers. I use olive oil.
Selam! (peace be with you)
